The best part about this DIY is that you can make it as complicated or as simple as possible and still achieve success.
I decided to reorganize my desk drawers. It was awesome because I got to watch some Todd and the Book of Pure Evil (not suitable for children) on Netflix while I did it! Anyway, I have been seeing all kinds of pretty drawer organizers at Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond and Ikea as well as DIY’s on Pinterest. I fully believe that you should buy something for kitchen drawer organization but for desks, especially for personal use, I think a DIY will work just fine.
I chose to be super cheap, aka FREE, and use things I already had.
- Elmers glue
- Drawing paper (slightly thicker than regular paper)
That’s right folks! I didn’t measure. For OCD individuals this might be a problem but I don’t see my drawer organizers unless the drawer is open so I am okay if they are a little off.
For the step by step DIYer…
Grab that paper; thicker is better! You could also use cardboard. And keep in mind, if you want this pretty just cover it in tissue paper or wrapping paper or draw custom designs.
Fold each of the long sizes in appropriately depending on how tall you want the sizes of your organizer.
Fold in the ends.
Now unfold the whole thing and cut along the creases made on the ends.
Then fold up the end and fold the newly cut pieces around it.
Glue this and you are done!
Tada! You have officially made custom drawer organizers for FREE!
