This cake sounds too good to be true…
- Bake chocolate cake
- Put Oreo pudding on top of cake
- Put crushed Oreos on top of pudding
I love a recipe with three steps! This may be how it ended up on my Pinterest board.
The best part about this cake is that it is different. It is not just another cake with icing. So I knew that my dear friend Theresa would be more than willing to try something new with me. Side note: Cooking is more fun with a friend.
I followed the recipe from TheCountryCook and it worked perfectly!
First you need to grab your ingredients.
- chocolate cake mix (and everything else needed to make cake)
- 2 4oz boxes of Oreo pudding mix
- 4 cups of milk
Be sure to grab the oldest blender you can find! It makes the experience so much more exciting because the blender could explode at any minute.
Bake your cake and poke some holes in it right away…beautiful! Then whip up some oreo pudding and pour it on top. TheCountryCook said to aim for the holes but lets be real…you can’t miss them.
Looks so good! Avoid temptation to eat right now and put it in the fridge for at least an hour.
Now murder so Oreos….my favorite technique is to put them in a ziplock and pound the crap out of it. Effective and stress relieving. 🙂
Please note that we used only two sleeves of Oreo cookies crushed on top and it was plenty. Thankfully, I did not crush the last sleeve so now I have a snack for later.
Pour them on top (this photo is before the full two sleeves of Oreos) and you have just made an Oreo Puddin’ Poke Cake!
Yum! We ate it with a spoon because my friends appartment didn’t have enough forks.
